ZdZ online 2026: Spring masterclasses

Exclusive online masterclasses for the Zona da Zanfona Digital series in Spring 2026. From the beginning of April to the end of May different approaches to the world of the hurdy-gurdy in sessions with international teachers plus huge amount of extra material to study further for the next months and get to know from specialist on their fields about special features and musical languages. Four online workshops for hurdy-gurdy players of all levels in preparation for the 22th Zona da Zanfona. Festival Internacional.

Twice a month we will meet for direct learning in an intensive two hour session with each teacher for a brief introduction to context and history; explanation of style; proposal of exercises and tunes; questions and live talk.

At the end of each workshop, extra material will be given for further study.

The sessions take place on Sundays from 6 pm to 8 pm (Central European Summer Time or UTC +2).

  • Deadline for payment: 2 days before every masterclass. Recommended at least a week before to received the preparatory material in advance.
  • Recorded masterclasses will not be shared after the session. Extra material will be sent to all registered attendants. Fees not reimbursable. If you can not make it, someone of your choice could take your place instead.

H.I.P.S.T.E.R. is a concert series based in Limerick, Ireland, organised by Now and Then Media and made possible with support from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and with support from the Limerick City and County Council / Limerick Arts Office.
